Set in 1973, the film follows William Miller, a 15-year-old aspiring rock journalist who gets the opportunity of a lifetime to tour with the rising rock band Stillwater and write a story about them for Rolling Stone magazine. As he travels with the band, he navigates the complex world of rock 'n' roll, groupies, and fame—losing and finding himself in the process.
