The story follows Corky (played by Gina Gershon), an ex-con who takes a job renovating an apartment. She meets Violet (Jennifer Tilly), the girlfriend of mobster Caesar (Joe Pantoliano), who lives next door.

Corky and Violet begin a passionate affair and soon conspire to steal $2 million of mob money from Caesar. Their plan is risky and involves playing both sides—while trying not to get caught in the crossfire between Caesar and the Mafia.

What follows is a suspenseful and tightly-wound series of events full of deception, tension, and violence as their heist spins out of control.
