The story follows two teenage sisters, Ginger (Katharine Isabelle) and Brigitte (Emily Perkins), who are obsessed with death and alienation in their suburban town. Their bond is tested when Ginger is bitten by a mysterious creature — a werewolf — and begins to undergo terrifying physical and emotional changes that mirror puberty.

As Ginger transforms, Brigitte must find a way to save her sister and possibly stop her before it's too late. The film uses the werewolf metaphor to explore the horrors of adolescence, female sexuality, and the loss of innocence.
