The film follows Hayley Stark, a 14-year-old girl who meets a 32-year-old photographer named Jeff Kohlver in an online chatroom. They agree to meet in person, and things quickly take a dark and unexpected turn. What starts as a potentially dangerous situation for the young girl flips into a deeply disturbing psychological battle. Hayley is far more in control than she initially seems, and Jeff soon finds himself in a terrifying game of cat and mouse — or is it the other way around?
