Set in a bleak suburb of Stockholm in the early 1980s, the film follows Oskar, a lonely and bullied 12-year-old boy, who befriends Eli, a mysterious girl who has recently moved in next door. As their friendship deepens, Oskar realizes Eli is no ordinary girl—she’s a vampire who has lived for a very long time and survives on human blood.

Meanwhile, a series of grisly murders grips the town, connected to Eli’s need to feed. Despite this, the bond between Oskar and Eli grows stronger, offering Oskar both companionship and a chance at revenge against his bullies. But their relationship comes with chilling consequences.
