Medical student Chris Flynn (played by Desmond Harrington) takes a detour through a remote forest road after a traffic jam, hoping to reach a job interview on time. Unfortunately, he crashes into another stranded car belonging to a group of friends—Jessie (Eliza Dushku), Carly, Scott, Evan, and Francine—who are on a hiking trip.

They soon discover their cars were sabotaged with barbed wire. As they search for help, they stumble upon a rundown cabin. Inside, they find gruesome evidence of human remains and quickly realize they’re being hunted by a group of deformed, cannibalistic mountain men—Three Finger, Saw Tooth, and One Eye—mutants caused by generations of inbreeding.

One by one, the group is hunted down in brutal, gory fashion. Chris and Jessie must fight for survival, using their wits and the environment to escape the killers in the dense forest.
